We are poised for a lot of progress. By next weekend, our garage door should be installed, and we will have basement steps (for once, rainy weather will work in our favor, as the steps are an inside job for our neighbor Emilio). And, the excavator is back, a sign that our well and septic should be starting Real Soon Now.

Not a lot inside looks different. On Emilio's advice, we shifted our bathroom wall a few inches closer to the staircase, which somehow makes the bathroom look a foot wider.
We also added extra framing to the kitchen wall, so we don't have to install cabinets around the two big posts that stick out into the kitchen. Here is the "before" staircase shot, but you will have to turn your head sideways as I've tried importing it a dozen times and it keeps "undoing" my rotate clockwise:
