Milestones

Forgot the camera last week, but had it for the big update this time.  On Thursday we dropped Number One Son off at college, then went to the camp after with Two and Three.  Friday was kind of a lost day.  We got some work done, around visits from the inspector on our rough plumbing, a hardware store run, our first FedEx delivery (sent V2 down the driveway with a big piece of cardboard with our house number on it just in time), and helping Emilio get our hot water tank in place.  And a major meeting with National Grid about getting power run to the camp.

So we have plumbing.  Sort of.  Leach field was pushed off until Tuesday but the tank is in place - as is toilet, bathroom sink, and drains.  We could have hooked our well pump up to the generator to have water inside, but we were just too busy on the outside.

While we are still waiting for the roofers to finish our soffits and trim in the front, they did do the other three sides.  So, we spent most of the weekend on scaffolding in the back, putting up the siding for the back gable.

Here are the pictures.

The boys had their own project: our first fire pit.   Which we christened Saturday night with our first campfire and smores.

Three brings our log seats toward the fire pit.

We also set up our ancient screen house - a much better location for staining than inside!

Toilet and sink in place - note the elegant cardboard walls.

Back complete except for kitchen window trim.
