Sunday good, Monday bad

We got the rest of the joists up in a marathon session on Sunday.  Well, marathon meaning it went on a long time; we weren't moving particularly fast in the afternoon as it was hot!  Then around 4pm a breeze started up and so we stayed until 7, mostly just wrapping things up for the bad weather on monday.

Monday just as we arrived at the site turned into a big thunderstorm.  We didn't really see the point in waiting out the storm, unwrapping stuff, and doing a small amount of work - we had already decided to take the first rainy day to check out the kids at home, so we gave up and went home, spending an exciting day on things like laundry and cleaning up cat barf off the rugs.  Things were clearing up monday afternoon, but V2 had band practice, so Monday turned into a zero-progress day.

And looking ahead, based on temperatures predicted for thursday and friday, we are going to be spending more time in the lake than up on ladders, I think.

Anyway, a quick picture with all the first floor joists in place (except the ones that have to wait for the permanent first floor posts to go up - our next step).
Quitting time, sunday - eight days after our foundation was ready

Looking at our soon-to-be camp from the road.
